After many months and miles behind the wheel of your Honda, you check the calendar and realize that the end of your lease is fast approaching. While you might find that prospect a bit overwhelming, there's nothing to fret over; the team at Diamond Valley Honda is here to help every step of the way!

With a bit of preparation, you can streamline the lease return process and ensure that everything is quick, smooth, and easy. Here's what you need to know.

Two Months Prior

In the months leading up to the end of your lease, your first move will be to contact the Honda Financial Services Lease Maturity Center. They'll give you some details on returning your lease and confirm that the timeframe you have in mind is correct.

Next, you'll schedule a free vehicle inspection through SGS North America. This inspection, performed two months before the end of your lease, will notify you of any wear and tear that's deemed excessive. You'll also be made aware of any outstanding end-of-term obligations from your lease so that you can address them properly. Be sure to attain your Vehicle Inspection Report at this time, too.

One Week Prior

Prior to your return, simply contact your local Honda dealer to schedule an appointment for your vehicle return. This is also a good time to gather all of your necessary materials for the return. These include:

  • All copies of your keys
  • The Owner's Manual and any maintenance records you have
  • Your Vehicle Return Receipt
  • Your Vehicle Inspection Report
  • Receipts for any repairs you carried out after your inspection

Then, simply come to your appointment with the necessary materials and we'll get you all taken care of!

After Your Return

Once you've returned your vehicle, you'll call Honda Financial Services at (800) 708-6555 to confirm your return and ask any questions. If your payments are all completed, you'll stop receiving your monthly bill; if you have remaining payments or other end-of-lease obligations, you'll be billed at a later time.
